Maria C. Ortega is a passionate Special Education Teacher with six years of experience helping students, families, and educators work together to ensure every learner has the tools to succeed. She earned her Master’s degree in Special Education and Gifted Education from New Mexico Highlands University. Moving to New Mexico has been one of the best decisions of her life, as she has grown to love the warmth of its people and culture. Originally from Mexico, Maria enjoys exploring the outdoors, fishing, traveling, and discovering new places. Her goal as an educator is to empower her students to thrive both inside the classroom and as members of their communities.
